Who doesn’t love wearing rings? But the struggle is real when making metal clay rings
true to size. Not anymore! This workshop will give you a whole new outlook on sizing,
texturing and forming metal clay rings to resemble those fabricated with sterling silver
sheet that fit perfectly. Students will blend metal clay with traditional metalsmithing
techniques to make a ring that look like it was made in a metalsmith studio. Two texture
options will be demoed; cobblestone and reticulation. Make one ring, or if time allows,
make two!
All tools necessary will be available to use. Kit includes 15g Project X silver clay, fine silver bezel
cup, choice of gemstone, texture papers, sanding and polishing materials, instructions, patina
and consumables.
Students should bring optivisor or visual aid. Personal lighting is strongly recommended.
